July 4th Weekend

There is no doubt that the Peterson Family is the 'on the go' type. We have surrounded ourselves with great friends and family that is too hard to resist seeing when the opportunity arises. Each day of this festive weekend was full of good company.

Saturday was an enjoyable afternoon, turned into evening with the Bauers. Pool fun, girl fun, food fun, and good drinking fun with a great game of Spades.

With my Daddy, things are 'aye okay!'Sunday it was time to BBQ. In tow with both girls we partied at not one, but two bbqs. I was nervous for the constant change of scenery all weekend but I couldn't be happier about the behavior of sweet Lily. I won't give her an A+, but no one is perfect. She adjusted well to the different crowds of strangers and fit right in!! Molly = piece of cake!

Let's not forget MONDAY...a day to show our patriotism. I dawned the girls in the cutest red, white and blue outfits (not much to show of Molly) and we headed to Purcelville for their local parade. Here we are headed in town for the sights of local fire engines, girl scouts, boy scouts, etc. Exciting, I know, but there is nothing like coming together to show off our freedom on the July the fourth!Hooray!Ok, maybe those fire engines aren't the best things to see.....Lily was for sure not the biggest fan of all the flare and noise the fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars had to offer. But no worries, Daddy's leg will save you!

This is only a sneak peak Lily's true DISLIKE of fireworks. I'm not quite sure what it is about the noise, but it did not satisfy her thrills! Molly on the other hand gazed into the night sky with me, in awe and wonder of the beautiful firework show. Until next year.....I am happy to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave!!!

6 months already?

6 Month Photo Shoot

Well seeing I forgot to shoot the last two months, AND post them, here are a bunch from Molly being 6 Months old! She is growing so quickly! Too quickly! And I would like it to stop. right. now. I adore her smile she flashes at everyone. She is so well tempered and I wouldn't take her any other way. Lily adores her, and plays with her, and talks to her. I can see it now...best friends in the making!

Attempting photos before nap......not the best idea......

AFTER nap...that is the smile I know and love!

(Insert pic of Lily, because she is cute too!!!)

Isn't it ironic...don't ya think?

Well isn't it ironic...don't ya think??
...two weeks later and still no pictures, or video updates from which I promised in my last post!

How about I just stick with short and sweet

Father's Day

I had to work last night, and was on call today, which thankfully I didn't have to stay for contrary to my belief since we were so busy!

Due to my working all night I needed a bit of sleep before being the best Mom and wife to my Husband who is suppose to be enjoying Father's Day!

Mike stayed with the girls all day, which yes seems like a perfect Father's Day, but I was not there to help things make it the best. I would have enjoyed church together, breakfast together, lunch together or at least something, but instead my zzzzz's took precedence. I feel sorry for Mike that I was unable to 'spoil' him on his day, because Lord knows on my day, Mother's Day, I expected the world.

(insert quick post about my Mother's Day since I never did.....

We went to Great Country Farms where we enjoyed the BEAUTIFUL weather and sites to see in Bluemont Virginia! What a great place to take the kids! Lily LOVES farm animals, and there were just enough to make her happy. The activities and playgrounds are a plethora on the grounds, and the most fun, a GIANT moon bouncey thingy that comes out of the ground! GREAT FUN!

We topped off the day with a trip to Bluemont Vineyard (directly across the street from GCF) where we all enjoyed playing outside amongst all the other families, sipping on great wine and enjoying the scenery. Then we headed over to my parents for some grilling and time with MoMo and GPA! Wine, strollers, babies, outdoors....they make us all tired :)

.....Mother's Day post Over!)

He is such a great sport and an amazing Father!

We love you, Mikey, Daddy!

I guess it would be nice if I even had some pictures of Mike and the girls ON Father's Day, but alas that didn't even happen.

Instead we do have pictures of the small birthday party we had for Connor's 2nd birthday!

Like most people, when all the grandkids are together, we like to take a group shot. Well with 5 under 3 1/2 years the task isn't always the easiest.

As
youcan seeAnd even though it may have been all Connor's fault this time that we didn't get a good shot....he is so damn cute!!! Happy 2nd Birthday Buddy!!!

to blog or not?

Here I am spending some much needed, or not needed time on our family computer-in the basement (way too far from our first floor)-reading blogs, uploading pictures, catching up on facebook, etc....BUT I also have a two year old daughter at my feet, now naked (because we are working on potty training) glued to the tv, 17 loads of laundry to do wash/fold, plus dinner to prepare for because we are having friends over tonight, oh and a vacuum that is sitting half way up the stairs because I interrupted myself to help Lily pee then change the laundry, a sleeping baby who will soon wake up and need to be entertained/fed/changed/burped/all of the above!

What I am trying to get at is my blogging time is VERY few and far between. I'm just not sure if I am quite as good as it as I was with Lily. Not that I am totally overwhelmed with what needs to be done around the house, but that I am totally overwhelmed with blogging.

You see, I get sidetracked...hence the vacuuming to bathroom to laundry now on the computer. I swear there should be a fly on the wall to see my mania, or maybe a fly in brain to see how my wheels work.

I want to upload pics to the blog, talk about how wonderful the girls are right now, how wonderful my Mother's Day was, how wonderful the beach was. I want to tell all our stories.....I just don't know if I am cut out for it anymore.

I'm trying...I will continue to try! I enjoy reading everyone's blogs so there has to be at least one who enjoys reading ours too...I just feel like every time I post it is always a quick rendition of the past 2 months of our lives. Is this enough?

Oh, there's the babe calling me through her monitor......and I haven't even uploaded pics.....maybe later!
