Beach

Ok, so I really hate to bombard with pictures, although I must say, it was one of my most favorite weekends of photography!!! We went to my parents beach house two weekends ago with family and friends, and had the most amazing time. The weather could not have been more cooperative, the children were a joy, and the good company of family and friends topped it off! There is not much to say except we all enjoyed our mini vacay in Nags Head, and Mike and I especially spoke throughout the weekend about how grateful we are to have my parent house available to us. We want nothing more than to have the same for our family later on in life, and can't wait until our finances allow us to embark on such an investment as a beach house. My parents are so proud to see where they have come and are just as happy to share their house with us as we are to be there! Let me just say though, that we enjoyed the last of the good weather until the nor'eastern storm attacked the Outer Banks. My parents oceanfront property was luckily not at stake although the steps to the beach, and the dunes are no longer there. My brother had the opportunity to travel down this past weekend after the storm and he said that the weather had definitely taken a toll on the island. We were very lucky to have had the weather we did, and my parents are even luckier to not have much damage to their home! Of course, the weather and upkeep, my parents are not such a fan of, but I know they would say it is worth it!

Here are just some of the MANY photos I took this weekend..........
This dune which we sit upon is directly behind my house, and is now gone due to the storm....

Pediatric Update

This past Thursday, Lily had her 9mos check up (at 10mos), don't ask why it just happened that way. I was really excited because I had not seen her weight since almost 3 mos prior. I know she has grown like crazy, but she has also slimmed out a bit due to her increase in activity, ie: crawling. I remember my camera this time, and I can't help but laugh at this picture...she is much more of a big baby than I imagined. I remember the day I took her when she was only a speckle on this baby scale. She seems a little weirded out, I might at, but you get the point! Such personality these days!!!!Here are her current stats:
Weight: 20lhs 9oz- 75%
Height: 28in 50%
Head Circumference: 18in 90% (go figure)

While patiently waiting for the pediatrician to attend to our needs, Lily was very entertained by her goldfish Tupperware. She was very proud to be shaking it all around. She also was quite fascinated by the paper on the bed and insisted eating small pieces of it. Nonetheless although it was just me and her in the room I felt like I had my hands full!In the end our visit was quite pleasant! Our pediatrician is amazing, and she is so attentive to the babies! She sings to them as she is doing their assessment, and this is RIGHT up Lily's alley, considering her mother :) Dr. Reilly said that Lily is doing perfectly and she is so 'bright' and 'smiley', a precious gem! Lily ended our visit with a toe prick and two shots.....H1N1 and Influenza. Lets just pray that they will have the booster available in a month when it is needed!

Lily's First Halloween

It was a beautiful afternoon so we started early! Mike, Lily and I headed to Reston Town Center for an early dinner and drinks with our friends The Sheperds! Much to our surprise Reston was not in full Halloween force like we thought they would be. We still dressed the kiddies up, Lily, Fi Fi the Poodle, and Ethan, Notre Dame's Quarterback. After Reston, we headed back to our house, just in time for the real trick-or-treaters, which I loved! Ethan and Lily even strolled around the block for their own candy. Things I found out last night....Lily likes lollipops, AND she probably isn't allergic to peanuts considering she got into the Reeses Pieces :) ....OOOPS! Fi Fi, the pink Poodle!
