The Vineyard

Martha's Vineyard with the Bauers was beyond amazing! It was a fantastic, memorable week with some of our bestest friends! Because I want to post this 'post' so badly so I don't feel like I am a complete and total slacker, here is a array of pictures to document our week!

Ferry Ride to Oaks Bluff......

Beachin' it...

The BEST sunset...the beaches of Menemsha. People spread upon the beach of this tiny fisherman town to watch the beauty of the sun set into the horizon. Families bring food and wine to enjoy while viewing the natural wonders of God's creation. The sun sets and people clap as if watching the end of a show. Bravo God, BRAVO! you have amazed us again! Our feast....lobsters, mussels, butter for dips, wine, beer YES PLEASE!

For historical purposes, we left the weekend of Hurricane Irene. Sunday, the hurricane hit the east coast...we were left untouched except for some harsh winds that for a short moment in time scared us. (to the point where we made our babies take naps in their pac n plays in the basement)

Molly's two bottom teeth came in within days of us being there! She is a trooper!
Our whole family slept in one master bedroom. Lily on the floor on a blow up mattress, and Molly in the pac n play next to the bed. By morning we were one big happy family in the queen size bed. Vacation mode is not just for the parentals, evidently kiddos get their way too. Geesh, I can only imagine a trip to Disney World!

Lily got a small gash in her forehead, she was fine, but for cosmetic reasons we went ahead and made our first trip to the ER. No stitches were needed! A little dermabond glue and she was all better!

We ate amazing food while there! Some came from our very own hard working kitchen, but one of the best outings was at a restaurant 'Atlantic' in Edgartown. The restaurant sat ever so nicely upon boating docks, BIG boating docks for the rich and the famous :) It was fancy smancy and one of the most expensive lunches I have ever had, but let me tell you, it was WORTH it!

Two front teeth!

As we travel to weather the storm known as 'Irene' Molly jabs about the joy of teething! This sweet 8 month old is growing too fast!! She crawls to meet all her destinations and can pull herself up to greet you. When comparing Lily and her developments as a baby, Molly has surpassed her by months! It's that second child thing. Molly would give anything to keep up with her big sister :)

she got it

It is amazing the different milestones that Molly and Lily have encountered! Lily sat at this point about a month ago. Molly has not. Molly has been rolling over for months. Lily didn't until she was 7 months! Lily drank from a sippy cup around this time but Molly has no interest!

Go Molly! Watch as she gets it!!

I think the biggest difference...crawling! Now where Molly is no pro yet...she has a mission and most of it involves inching with her face to get to her destination!

July 4th Weekend

There is no doubt that the Peterson Family is the 'on the go' type. We have surrounded ourselves with great friends and family that is too hard to resist seeing when the opportunity arises. Each day of this festive weekend was full of good company.

Saturday was an enjoyable afternoon, turned into evening with the Bauers. Pool fun, girl fun, food fun, and good drinking fun with a great game of Spades.

With my Daddy, things are 'aye okay!'Sunday it was time to BBQ. In tow with both girls we partied at not one, but two bbqs. I was nervous for the constant change of scenery all weekend but I couldn't be happier about the behavior of sweet Lily. I won't give her an A+, but no one is perfect. She adjusted well to the different crowds of strangers and fit right in!! Molly = piece of cake!

Let's not forget MONDAY...a day to show our patriotism. I dawned the girls in the cutest red, white and blue outfits (not much to show of Molly) and we headed to Purcelville for their local parade. Here we are headed in town for the sights of local fire engines, girl scouts, boy scouts, etc. Exciting, I know, but there is nothing like coming together to show off our freedom on the July the fourth!Hooray!Ok, maybe those fire engines aren't the best things to see.....Lily was for sure not the biggest fan of all the flare and noise the fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars had to offer. But no worries, Daddy's leg will save you!

This is only a sneak peak Lily's true DISLIKE of fireworks. I'm not quite sure what it is about the noise, but it did not satisfy her thrills! Molly on the other hand gazed into the night sky with me, in awe and wonder of the beautiful firework show. Until next year.....I am happy to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave!!!
